Thank you!

The girls here put on a "surprise" party for me on the 18th. Though I don't think I have ever really been surprised. :-) It was fun.

I spent the day of my birthday (the 20th) getting up at about 5:40am and taking a taxi to a bus stop, and then a bus to the airport. Me and 2 other teachers waited about 5 hours to take a stand by flight to a small island called Kinmen an hour long flight away. It is an island of Taiwan that is right along the shores of China. You can see China from the place I stayed (at some other IBLP teachers dorms). The Kinmen teachers got me a little cake, and a candle in the shape of a 2, and out side under the stars looking at the lights along the shore of China I blew out my birthday candle.

Thank you Lord for another year.

In response to the comment you left on my posted invitation to my open house:

They LOVED the pictures of you. All 697 of the lovely pictures of you. And the stories. And hearing about Benji and you. And you and Alex. And you and the face masks. And everything else I could think of saying about you. ;)

just so you know, the following is invisible text: ... and then I woke up. ;)

Why are you going to see me depending on your camp schedule? Are you coming back to Taiwan earlier?

* Depending on next year's summer camp requirements of me, I wanted to visit you next summer if you couldn't get out here to see me this summer.

If not can I come and visit you in the states on Aug 6th?

* OH MY WORD!!! Can you? Are you asking if you can????!! I am the one that should be asking if you CAN! I would LOVE it if you could come! How long can you stay?

Ni jia ren hen hao ma?

* They're really awesome, especially considering that I am back with them for a little bit! They are a little jealous for time with me! lol!

Shi NaiFen zhao gong zuo ma?

* Not a consistent job. He came home and had jobs lined up to help buck hay. But I don't know what his long term plan is...

I am like a 2 year old right? Don't they ask a lot of questions?

* Naomi, you ARE like a 2 year old - lots of fun, adventurous, AND you ask a LOT of questions! but that's what makes you so fun-ly awesome! ;)

Why is it hard to promise a bi ma?

* If you have a "Why" sentence, you shouldn't need to have a "ma" on the end... ;)
It's hard to promise because I don't KNOW the next time we will see each other. And I will NOT give you one till I see you again. ;) So, you're coming in August, right?? ;)

I can't believe you said you are asking questions like 2 years old... You're almost 30!!! And you act your age well... ;)

Did you die?
What's heaven like? ;)

Let me know if you ever update your blog. =)
(I know you're too busy having real relationships to maintain internet life. It's positively wonderful to see that you don't have time to blog. Which means that you have tons of fun and friends at camp... have fun! =)

May the Lord bless you and keep you...
I LOVED singing that with your family - and it touched me the first time I heard you sing that when I was at your house and your mom started crying when you guys got to the part when you sang through the names of the people in your family.
Your family was (is!) such a blessing to me.

Yeah, Rumi and Lucy were at winter camp, I think that's how I know them. Nathan spent a couple days down there with them before he left.

Teresa said...

no, Nathan didn't burn everything. Though he did leave some stuff at the EV... ;)

The wall we painted was designed by the kids. Everyone drew a little picture of what their hobby was and what has shaped them to be the person they are today - then we put all the pictures collaged together and painted it on the wall at the school.

Teresa said...

it was my first big painting project and I discovered how much I HATE detail work - I like projects to move along quickly... "just slap on the paint and let's go!" ;)

Teresa said...

but yesterday I painted a room in our house - my first real time to paint walls. My mom and I worked on it together. That was pretty fun.. like I say "slap it on and let's go!" ;)

I thought of you, though, doing both painting projects - the mural and the walls in our house. Knowing your PASSION for painting and everything! But you just like to DO IT IN SECRET.. ha ha. ;)

Wow, look at all those fans... 20 comments... you officially have a record!

oh, last night I went to an open house for a couple who's going to live in China. They leave the states on this Sunday - Aug. 3rd. They're going to be "missionaries" down by the border of Thailand - the Southwest part of China, I think. It was interesting. I thought of you, a little. ;)
